Common Questions Getting a Puppy From Ten Oaks Doodles

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR LEASH AND COLLARS FOR MICRO MINI SHEEPADOODLES?

We recommend anything nylon for leash, and an adjustable harness as it is more comfortable for the puppy so they don’t experience a choking feeling that can sometimes result from being walked with a collar

Harness size: X-Small micro mini sheepadoodle - neck size at 8 weeks old, approximately 6-8 in.

WHICH FOOD DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THE MICRO MINI SHEEPADOODLES Puppies, GOLDENDOODLES Puppies, OR AUSSIEDOODLES Puppies?

We feed and recommend Nutri-Source Puppy Starter for their first year. For our feeding schedule, we have food available throughout the day with none in their crate at night.

WHICH CRATE DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THE MICRO MINI SHEEPADOODLES?

We recommend a 30-inch tall single or double-door wire crate, big enough to use as they grow.

WHICH CHEW TOYS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THE MICRO MINI SHEEPADOODLE PUPPIES?

We do discourage hard toys, such as bones, as they can break baby teeth - around 6 months of age harder toys can be introduced. We recommend any rubber chewy toy, and we do not recommend stuffed toys, as they can be a choking hazard.

WHAT SHOTS HAVE YOUR PUPPIES HAD PRIOR TO GOING HOME

  • 6 weeks - Intra DAPPV
  • 8 weeks - DA2PPV
  • Wormed with Safeguard at 4-6 -8 weeks old and Pyrantel at 2 weeks old.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO TREAT PUPPIES FOR GIARDIA?

We treat the puppies with Metronidazole at 4-6-8 weeks for Giardia.

How does puppy selection work?

How does puppy selection work?

We try to wait 3-4 weeks of age to start puppy picks. We do puppy picks in order of deposits received. We take professional  quality photos of each puppy and share them on our website, and YouTube channel. We no longer allow in person puppy picks for many reasons, but the most important reason is to keep our puppies safe and healthy. We are more than happy to FaceTime or video chat with you to help you make your selection. We just ask you narrow it down to 2 puppies prior to our FaceTime.

Are we able to come visit our puppy in person?

Are we able to visit our puppy in person?

Unfortunately, we no longer allow visitors for a couple of reasons. First because of Covid, we want to do everything possible to protect your family as well as ours.  Second, we need to do everything possible to keep our puppies safe. They are much like newborns and do not have the immunities to fight off germs and infections. Parvo is our biggest scare; it can kill a puppy in less than 24 hours, and can live on clothing and shoes. Parvo can be picked up anywhere, the pet store, the vet, another Breeder property, anywhere an infected animal has been. Once Parvo is on property, it can take years to get rid of.
